The activities of the Syrian-Lebanese Investment Forum concluded in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Dr. Layla Al-Samman, Chairwoman of the Syrian-Lebanese Business Council, participated as part of the Syrian ministerial delegation headed by Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar, Minister of Economy and Industry, alongside Mr. Iyad Al-Hazzaa, the Syrian Chargé d'Affaires to Lebanon, and a number of ministers and heads of public authorities in the Syrian government.
The forum addressed ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between Syria and Lebanon, revitalize investments and joint projects, and strengthen communication between the private sector and business leaders in both countries. Additionally, it introduced government policies, new legislation, and available investment opportunities in Syria.
Discussions emphasized the vital role of the Syrian-Lebanese Business Council and its sectoral committees in supporting communication among investors and business leaders, highlighting investment prospects, and contributing to proposing feasible new projects in Syria.
During the forum, the Syrian delegation met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace.
The forum also underscored the importance of transitioning economic relations between the two nations toward more organized and institutional frameworks. This shift aims to facilitate the follow-up of joint files, turn understandings into actionable steps, and foster integration between productive and service sectors.
